Arts Place will celebrate its 50th anniversary with an Arts Place is Golden Gala on Saturday, October 14 2017. The festivities will begin with dinner at 6:00 in the evening. Following the meal, there will be a presentation honoring Arts Place’s contributions to the community over the past half-century. The night will conclude with a time of dancing to the music of the Souled Out Band.
Dan Rottenberg, one of the four original founders of Arts Place, will be the evening’s keynote speaker. The former editor of The Commercial Review, Rottenberg is the author of 11 books, including Death of a Gunfighter and most recently The Outsider
Albert M. Greenfield and the Fall of the Protestant Establishment.
Guests will also hear from current board members Jack Ronald and Carol Trimmer, as well as long-time friend of Arts Place Dr. Bonnie Maiten. Several past and present students and faculty will give musical performances, including Peter Vogler, Margaret Hammond, Eric Rogers, Zec Landers, Joey Bailey, Sawa Yamaguchi, and a specially organized choir for the event. The program will also include a video tribute to Arts Place created by Aric Harvig.
